When left untreated, early decay can cause extensive, irreversible damage that dissolves tooth enamel, leading to cavities, pain & potential tooth loss. Traditionally, even small areas of decay require drilling & fillings once enamel is compromised, but Curodont offers a modern alternative.
Curodont is a needle-free, drill-free treatment designed specifically for early dental decay that preserves your natural teeth & helps prevent the progression of more serious decay. Curodont works at the earliest stage of decay. By intervening early, the innovative product reduces the need for restorative procedures in the future. There are two types of the product: Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus for professional application & Curodont Protect for at-home use.
What Is Curodont?
Curodont is a non-invasive, clinically-developed anti-cavity solution that targets the earliest signs of tooth decay—before they become full-blown cavities that require restorations. Instead of merely coating the tooth, Curodont’s formulation penetrates enamel lesions to encourage remineralization from deep within. This process strengthens weakened enamel by restoring essential minerals to areas affected by early decay.
The formula does this by delivering fluoride, calcium & phosphate directly into microscopic lesions in the enamel. These minerals integrate into the tooth structure through the natural process of mineral uptake, helping rebuild & reinforce enamel. Over time, this process helps to slow & stop decay & cavity progression.
Curodont is fast & easy to apply (can be done in as quickly as 3 minutes) & works on all tooth surfaces, including between teeth & along the gumline. It is non-staining, tasteless & suitable for patients of all ages, making it an excellent option for children, teens, adults & seniors alike.
What to Expect During Treatment
- Diagnosis of Early Lesions: To begin, clinical diagnostics such as radiographs or advanced imaging will be used to identify areas of early enamel breakdown.
- Preparation: Once the areas are identified, the affected tooth surfaces with lesions are gently cleaned, rinsed & isolated to ensure optimal contact between the enamel & treatment solution.
- Application: Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus is precisely applied to the areas of early decay. The solution penetrates the enamel & begins the remineralization process.
- Post-Treatment Care: After the application is complete, patients are advised to avoid eating, drinking or rinsing for about 30 minutes after the procedure to maximize uptake. Afterwards, routine brushing & flossing should continue as usual.
Complementary Care: Curodont Protect
To enhance & maintain the benefits of Curodont’s early lesion treatment, patients can also use Curodont Protect as an additional, supplementary treatment. Curodont Protect is an anti-cavity & anti-sensitivity gel that uses stannous fluoride to strengthen enamel & help prevent future decay while reducing tooth sensitivity.
While Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus has to be applied by dental professionals, Curodont Protect can be used as an at-home preventive treatment in the patient’s routine for maintenance & sensitivity relief.
If you have signs of early decay or are looking for a proactive way to protect your smile, Curodont may be an effective & comfortable solution.
